I am guessing the problem mentioned in my P.S. Hope at least this can be fixed in Zotero!Įdit: Thanks to aurimas, I tried exporting my Zotero library to a BibTeX file and it seems to open fine in Docear. I noticed that because of a Zotero problem, one-way sync DOES NOT currently work well from Zotero to Docear, and there isn't any two-way sync yet. Is anyone interested in better integration between the two? Perhaps at least smooth two-way sync? If this is achieved, I think it would be a huge boost to both programs. I think it would be great if the strengths of Zotero and Docear are combined into an academic workflow. I love how it can also be used to create mind maps, and help me take another step on the path to a working Personal Knowledge Base. More recently, I've been looking at the wonderful Docear for further organisation of my research and related notes. :) Hats off, thumbs up, and a huge thanks to the developers! We've put together a comparison chart below to help you examine the different features available and figure out the best option for you. If you're working on a research team, you'll also want to make sure the software allows you to collaborate with your colleagues smoothly. If you're a graduate student or a faculty member, you might have different considerations: the software needs to work well with the databases you use frequently, it must be able to organize and filter a large number of citations, and it should be able to produce a bibliography in the primary style used in your discipline. Oh, and let's not forget: it needs to be free or cheap. For example, if you are an undergraduate student, you might be looking for the fastest and easiest option -something with a short learning curve, which lets you grab citations and produce bibliographies in a snap. So how do you pick the best citation management software for you? There are many factors to consider.
